How Do I Receive and Respond to EDI Bids
Your Prime Vendor program will send
you an e-mail once per day when you have received an EDI solicitation.
To access and view EDI solicitations you must enter the program
and select Federal Markets.
Then select Federal
EDI. You will then see an EDI sub-menu. Click on
EDI Inbox to view a listing
of EDI documents that you have received from the government.
The default
listing of the EDI inbox includes all of your EDI documents.
You can use the jump menu in the top left of the listing to
view the EDI documents by different categories.
You can
view the specifics of an EDI document by clicking on the View
button. This will bring up an EDI translation that will list
the information contained in the EDI document. The jump menu
in the top left of this screen will give you the option of viewing
the document by line item only and/or place a bid on the EDI
document.
To place
a Bid on an EDI document select Place
Bid from the jump menu in the top left. Scroll to
the bottom of the page and you will see a section highlighted
in yellow. This yellow section is a line item. There
can be multiple line items in a bid document. You can place
bid information into each line item individually by clicking
the Enter Bid button for
each line item. The following screen shows the line items in
this EDI document.
After clicking
Enter Bid the next page
will present a series of blank text fields for your bid information.
After you
complete this information and you are satisfied that it is correct
scroll to the bottom of the page and click the button marked
Place Bid. You will return
to the line item screen. If you are finished placing bid information
into the line items scroll to the bottom of the page and click
the button marked Continue To Next
Section.
On this
page you can review your previous information and add additional
information regarding the terms of the bid or you can enter
notes into the comments field. When you are finished click
Review.
Now you
can now review the information you have entered into this bid.
If every thing is correct you can scroll to the bottom of the
page and click Submit to
send the completed EDI document back to the Agency.
