Prime Vendor Web Based eCommerce Catalogue | ||
Website Integration
The eCatalogue is integrated into the website during the design phase of development. This way the website and eCatalogue will provide a seamless eCommerce experience for potential customers of the website. In the case of a client who has an existing website the design department will work closely with the client to integrate the catalogue to match the graphic style, message and brand. Design staff will also provide testing and troubleshooting to ensure that functionality of the website and catalogue are not compromised. The Public eCatalogue is generated from the items within the client's general catalogue. These items can be entered by the client from their own ePortal or the products can be entered by the development staff at Prime Vendor.(This will require additional data entry fees.) For clients whose product catalogues are too large for practical data entry the Prime Vendor web development staff can import the product and image information from a digital format. Product information arranged in a specific format in an Excel, comma-delineated or tab-delineated file can be electronically imported saving many hours of data entry time. Web development staff will evaluate digital product submission on a per project basis. Layout Options In order to best suit the needs of the client Prime Vendor provides multiple layout options for the online Catalogue. Clients can choose the layout of the product line items including the product specific information the placement of thumbnail or full size images, foreground, background and text color. The "check-out" forms can also receive color modifications so the webforms will match the design of the website. The line item layouts are based on a standard template and the display of a standard set of information elements that included product name, description, catalogue number, manufactures number, unit type, packaging, product image and price. Typically there is a link or button to view detailed product specifications in a separate window. |
